Dreamhost Review

Dreamhost Review – An overview and review of the Dreamhost Webhosting Platform. Is Dreamhost worth its cost? Find out here in this webhosting review article.

Dreamhost Review

Dreamhost has been in the business for quite some time and offers a lot of great services to its customers. They are definitely for a certain type of business or person, and not for others. If you understand hosting and exactly what you want from a provider, then they may just be for you, but if you are just starting out and haven’t a clue, you may want to go with a hosting company that breaks it all down and makes it a little easier to digest.

One great thing they offer is a 97 day trail period, and once that is over, if you are not satisfied, then you can part ways and there are no hard feelings.

With all of the plans you have unlimited bandwidth, and they offer a lot of free backup space, plus you have the option to purchase more room in the Cloud Services. This is nice to know that you have access to the Cloud, but honestly, if you’re never going to use it, it doesn’t quite sell it for me.

One thing it doesn’t offer that can be a deal breaker for some is they don’t have a site builder. While it’s not hard to create a site somewhere else, and then upload it to Dreamhost, it may not be something you want to do.

Price

The prices are fair, especially considering the services they offer, and with that 97 day trail period, you really can’t go wrong. The most basic plan is under nine dollars, and it comes with free domain name. It’s around twenty dollars for WordPress hosting, and then for VPS it’s $15-$120 depending on how maximized you want to be. Dedicated servers are all going to be over $150.

Cons

The two main cons of Dreamhost is their 24/7 customer service is all done via live chats and emails, so you can’t pick up the phone and get immediate answers at times. However, they do have forums that help answer your basic questions. Also, they can get a little more complicated than your average host, and this can be intimidating to someone who is new.

Pros

They can easily take care of sites with a lot of traffic, and if you need to upgrade because you have suddenly developed a strong online presence, they make the transition seamless so your business doesn’t have any setbacks.

Email set-up is easy and with limitless amounts of space, plus you can have as many email addressed as you wish. They do not put a limit on it, however they do watch to make sure it is not being used for spam purposes. Dreamhost has wonderful security, and is very proactive in making sure that if you use a shared site, and your traffic begins to increase, that you won’t slow anyone else’s site down. They will approach you with your upgrade options. As a shared site owner, this should make you happy to know, busier sites aren’t going to slow you.

Dreamhost has been around and definitely knows what they are doing, but in many cases they are suited better for someone who can jump right in there. That’s why I wouldn’t recommend Dreamhost to someone fresh out of the gate, but to someone who has website building and hosting knowledge. If you are new to webhosting, I personally recommend that you signup with Hostgator. We personally have multiple webhosting accounts with them and they are currently our #1 webhosting recommendation.

Hostgator vs Dreamhost

Hostgator vs Dreamhost Webhosting Review and Comparison – Find out which of these two webhosting companies is the best solution for hosting your website with.

If you have decided to start a website, or if you are in the market for a new hosting company, you have probably been doing a ton of research. There are a lot of top-notch companies out there right now ready to service all of your hosting needs, and it can be very difficult narrowing down your choices, let alone finally making one. Both Hostgator and Dreamhost offer fantastic plans and prices, but it’s those little differences that can make the decision for you.

Dreamhost vs Hostgator

These are two fun hosts to compare because they both spawned from the depths of dorm rooms, and their beginning was only a few years apart. They have been big competitors in the industry, and as their business grows, they both evolve in intelligent and demanding ways.

Control Panels

While they both have easy to navigate control panels, Hostgator allows you to preview a demonstration so you can factor in their navigation system when you are making your decisions. Dreamhost does not offer you a demo of their web-based panel before you purchase, and after some consumers who have already used cPanel in the past, or liked the demo they were shown by Hostgator, finally us the Dreamhost control panel and find themselves disappointed.

Customer Service

Customer service is key when it comes to hosting because your businesses image can be on the line. Hostgator offers live chat, email options, and a phone number, as well as forum that can answer basic questions that arise. Dreamhost offers chat, but during peak times it can become saturated and the wait time can be a little long, and there is no phone option to reach out to. And this can lead to a helpless feeling if something is seriously interrupting your service.

Plans and Extras

Both offer plans that can take your business to the next level, and while Dreamhost is a hair slower than Hostgator at times (I don’t know if any host can beat the loading speed of Hostgator) it does offer the Cloud for more storage. However, Hostgator offers unlimited disk storage for all of its plans.

One thing Hostgator does that puts it in the lead for this comparison is it works a little better with small businesses as well as large corporations. Dreamhost can definitely handle large corporations, but they can be difficult to understand for individuals starting out. Hostgator offers Weebly, which features a drop and drag approach for site building. Dreamhost does not offer a site-building tool. So, if you want to build a site using an easy method, you’ll have to go to a separate place, build the site, and then upload it to Dreamhost. Not too hard if you know what I’m talking about, but if you want a site builder, Hostgator should be your choice.

Security

Security is wonderful and a top priority for both hosts, so they come up even on that. And they both offer a money back guarantee. Hostgator gives you 45 days and Dreamhost gives you 97 days. While 97 days is more, if you are actively using your host as soon you purchase it, 30 days would more than enough time to make an accurate decision if the host you chose is for you.

Conclusion
So when it comes down to choosing between Dreamhost and Hostgator, I would have to go with Hostgator because of it’s customer service, it offers a site builder, and it’s cPanel is just easier to use.

Hostgator vs iPage

Hostgator vs iPage Webhosting Review and Comparison – Find out which of these two webhosting companies is the best solution for hosting your website with.

Choosing the right host for your website can be one of the best decisions you’ve made in awhile, or you can find yourself with a whole new set of problems for yourself and your business. That’s why taking those first few steps and doing the research before you make a decision is so important. Each webhost has it’s own set of pros and cons, and it’s up to you decide which ones will effect you the most. If you’re choosing between Hostgator and iPage, there are a few things to consider.

Hostgator vs iPage

Control Panel.

Hostgator uses cPanal for navigation while iPage uses a vdeck control panel. Both are pretty easy to use once you get used to them, but the cPanel has a little more depth and abilities that make it easier to progress as your website grows. I consider iPage’s panel to be more basic, which is great for beginners.

Performance.

Hostgator has spent millions in research in order to be the top performer in terms of speed, and so far they have achieved just that. You can find tons of benchmark tests done by individual reviewers that will show you they are on the forefront when it comes to speed. And after I used the two side by side, I thought Hostgator would blow iPage away. While Hostgator did perform better, iPage was still pretty darn quick and I was impressed with that, but they still weren’t as quick as their competitor in this race.

Pricing and Plans.

It always depends on what your personal needs are for starting a website. iPage works well with small business, and will perform wonderfully for you if this is your choice. They are lacking a few options in their plans though such as reselling. So, if you are going to be interested in reselling down the road, this might not be the plan for you. Hostgator absolutely has a reselling option, and it does a tremendous amount of business. Even if it’s not something you are considering at this time, I would check it out, so if you decide you want to resell in the future, you are with a host that gives you the option to.

iPage offers a lower introductory rate, but once your first term is over, their prices will be as high as Hostgators, but you won’t have any additional extras and bonuses.

Customer Service

Both offer wonderful 24/7 customer service that can be reached via phone, chat, and email. Both were extremely responsive to me when I called and there was not much waiting involved with either.

Conclusion

When it comes down to it on this one, I would have to favor Hostgator because of its larger portfolio of services such as reselling, and I prefer the cPanel over the vdeck. Also, Hostgator has been a player in the hosting industry for quite some time and has proven their longevity and ability to stay with a company for years, and I feel like I need to watch iPage more to see how they do in the future before I would decide to go with them. See our iPage coupon codes listing here if interested.

Hostgator vs Bluehost

Hostgator vs Bluehost Webhosting Review and Comparison – Find out which webhosting company is the best solution for hosting your website with.

When you have finally narrowed your options between two hosts, you are going to have to start getting down to the nitty-gritty as far the details are concerned. Often when you ask people which host they prefer, they will always go with the one they have used for years and haven’t had many problems with. All hosting sites are going to have set backs, you just need to know which ones you can deal with, and which ones you can’t.

Hostgator vs Bluehost

Control Panels

When it comes to the control panels of Hostgator and Bluehost, both us quality cPanel that is easy to use. They both require getting used to (as do all control panels), but once you have worked with them, Hostgators is generally favored because it is customized to them and their users, keeping everyone on the same page.

Security

Security is a high priority for both hosts. With whatever choice you make here, you know you are safe from hackers, viruses, and all of those other evil service disrupters.

Customer Service

Customer service is a must in this industry, and it is obvious that both Bluehost and Hostgator take it very seriously. There really isn’t a huge difference here in terms of how to reach support when you are in need. Both offer chat, email, phone number, and forums that can answer basic questions. I called both at different times of the day, and never had a problem with either. Bluehost had a little longer waiting time at some points, but nothing like some other hosting companies that can make you want to pull your hair out. Both were very reasonable.

Performance

When it comes to speed, from personal experience, Hostgator is faster than Bluehost when you are trying to load your webpage. In some instances, Hostgator is five times as fast. With that being said, there are times when they load at the same speed, but Hostgator is just more consistent in the amount of time it takes. For a larger company this difference is extremely important since the average viewer will spend three seconds on your site before leaving, and you don’t want it to be loading for those precious seconds.

Pricing

When it comes to pricing and plans, it really all depends on what your purposes are for building a website. Both offer three wonderful plans that will give you everything you need to start a successful website. However, Hostgator allows you to get your money back for the first 45 days of usage. That should be plenty of time to know if it’s the right fit for you.

Conclusion

While Bluehost has always been a favorite of mine and I’ve used them for years, my experience with Hostgator has been enlightening and I would most likely recommend anyone looking to find a host, to choose Hostgator. The side by side comparison of performance is what did it for me, and even though there is not a huge difference, it’s enough to impactful.

The second plan is the Plus, which comes at a higher price. This is a more popular option for web masters since most of its features are unlimited, including the websites, website space, bandwidth, and the domains. It also features a global CDN and more than $24 per year of extras. It also provides for 1 Spam expert to prevent spams.

The Business Pro is the most expensive among all the plans. All the basic features are identical to that of the Plus. However, it provides extra features that are worth the price. With over $180 per year in extras, the plan offers 2 Spam Experts, 1 dedicated IP, 1 SSL, 1 domain privacy, a site backup pro and a high overall performance.

JustHost is a good host. It has many positive features that are well acclaimed in the online community. While it also has its own downsides, such as not having any VPS hosting, it also has a 99.9% uptime guarantee that makes it very appealing to people who are looking for a quality web hosting. Justhost Review

Justhost Review – An overview and review of the Justhost Webhosting Platform. Is Justhost worth its cost? Find out here in this webhosting review article.

For web masters who are looking for a cheap, rich-featured, reliable and quality host, JustHost is one good option to consider. It is good for both personal and small businesses purposes. And among the many webhosting providers online, JustHost is a good host in terms of balancing affordability and quality of services.

Justhost Review

JustHost’s JustPlan will provide you with several features that will make you choose the product over others. Unlike other hosts that provide many plan packages depending on your needs, JustHost aims to integrate all these features into an option that will stand competitive with other hosts’ plans. And for this reason, JustHost has been awarded as Host of the Year 2010, Best Features 2009, and Best Hosting Pick 2010.

Customers are given free domains under JustHost. They can also transfer a domain for free. And aside from that, JustHost customers can host an unlimited number of domains in cPanel in one account, allowing easy management of all the hosted websites in one server from one place.

With the company’s commitment to quality service for the clients, JustHost leverages its affordable pricing, secure servers, and impressive 24/7 customer support. And more importantly, JustHost is transparent in terms of advertising their product. They make sure that customers are fully aware of what they are buying before any purchase is made.

JustHost’s utilization of a Cisco smart routing technology allows for the automatic switching of the internet connection whenever there is an interruption. JustHost guarantees fast performance of its hosted websites without interruptions. Its multiple 10-gigabit Ethernet connections can be well attributed for the fast transfer of customer data. And in case customers face an issue, they can easily contact the responsive support team, who will deal with the problem before the problem worsens.

For any customer of a webhosting provider, a successful and stable run of his or websites is very important. This is why hosts that offer 99.9% guarantees are very appealing in the online market. Similar to Hostgator, JustHost also offers a 99.9% uptime guarantee with its UPS power backup and diesel generator backup power. This suggests that no power outages are detected with JustHost. This justifies why JustHost’s hosting environment is definitely reliable.

JustHost’s control panel is easy to navigate. By using the latest cPanel which has integrated SimpleScripts, it’s very easy to manage everything with the server and hosting accounts. With Simple Scripts, users can easily install more than 150 applications without having to manually download the software, create databases or configure the server. This feature allows users to save time. Also, this is an ideal choice for beginners who don’t have a profound experience in the installation process.

JustHost plan package provides an unlimited disk space, unlimited MySQL databases, bandwidth email accounts, free domain name registration, free instant setup, free site builder with templates, PHP 5 web hosting, $50 Google Ad Credit, $25 Yahoo Ad Credit, $50 MySpace Ad Credits and e-commerce shopping carts. But more importantly, JustHost does not give you hidden charges that will just pop out in your monthly bill. If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, you can ask for a refund with its Anytime Money back Guarantee.

And with its 24/7 Customer Support team, JustHost boasts an impressive response system for client’s concerns. They can be easily contacted through telephone live chat, email, and through the ticket system. The average waiting time for these support portals is less than 30 seconds.

JustHost is a high quality webhost that offers many positive features. But when it comes to ease and use and price, we still prefer Hostgator. They both stand competitive in leading the market for quality web hosting. However, we can say that Hostgator still tops our choices for the best web hosting provider.

Hostgator vs Justhost Webhosting

Hostgator vs Justhost Webhosting Review and Comparison – Find out which webhosting company is the best solution for hosting your website with.

Among the many competitive webhosting providers online, Hostgator and JustHost are considered to be two of the best. They are well acclaimed for offering feature-filled hosting packages, affordable pricing of their products, and most importantly, for their quality service. This is why the two companies are also often compared for their pricing, features, reliability, performance, and technical support.

Hostgator vs Justhost Review

Hostgator offers three shared webhosting plans – Hatchling, Baby and Business Plan. However, the Business plan is too expensive to be compared to JustHost’s only plan. This is why JustPlan is only comparable to Baby and Hatchling. JustHost’s plan is considerably more expensive compared to Hostgator’s Hatchling plan, but it’s almost similar in price with the Baby plan.

Both JustHost and Hostgator’s packages are filled with rich features that are considered standard for shared hosting. JustHost and Hostgator guarantee good performance of websites, especially in loading speeds. Both companies are doing a regular assessment of the server response. Aside from server monitoring, Hostgator also regularly do automatic backups and weekly off-site backups. While JustHost also offer such features, there are no specifics on offsite back-ups.

In terms of performance, Hostgator is better compared to many cheaper options. JustHost, on the other hand, leverages its world-class data center in Chicago, Illinois, which boasts high performance quad processor servers and 10 gigabit Ethernet connections to ensure optimum hosting performance.

If we compare Hostgator’s Hatchling Plan with JustHost’s all in one Just Plan, both packages provide free set-up, unlimited disk space, unlimited data transfer, and unlimited email accounts. Hostgator’s Hatchling Plan can only host 1 domain while JustHost’s plan can host unlimited number of domains. Both offer free domain registration with service, e-commerce shopping cart programs that are open souorce applications, SSL Secure Server and cPanel with Fantastico. Hostgator provides a free Shared SSL Certificate while JustHost provides a free Generated SSL Certificate. In terms of the installation of the applications, Hostgator and JustHost provides a single click install for over 50 popular web scripts, including blogs, forums, CMS, and many others.

While both hosts provide advertising credits with many major search engines, JustHost is specific to Google, Yahoo and MySpace. Hostgator provides a Free Plesk, which is a user friendly site builder already integrated with good templates. On the other hand, JustHost’s free site builders are the RV Site Builder, Sitebuilder with templates and the Soholaunch.

JustHost offers about 69% of discount, while Hostgator’s Hatchling and Baby plans offer 25% discounts. Both of these providers offer an attractive 99.9% uptime guarantee, a plus factor especially for web hosting providers. JustHost offers an Anytime Money Back Guarantee, which gives customers a peace of mind in case they are unsatisfied with the product anymore. On the other hand, Hostgator customers can only ask for the refund within 45 days after the purchase is made, which is still fair and reasonable.

If your only goal for webhosting is to design, manage and market quality websites, these two can surely provide you with your basic needs. Indeed, you can notice from above that most of their features are similar. You don’t have a lot of problems in running your business largely because both of them provide ecommerce tools. They also give you access to the most popular web scripts, which will allow you to easily streamline your business to your target market.

Also, the technical support of Hostgator and JustHost are very impressive. The fact that their support portals can be accessed through phone, email and live chat any time of the day, their waiting time for processing is also very fast. And it’s not just that, both of these hosts provide a vast array of online resources, which are comprised of ebooks, tutorials, webinars, and many more. Hostgator, for instance, provides the largest video library in the entire web hosting industry with more than 500 useful tutorials. Moreover, Hostgator takes on its commitment to be an eco-friendly company by running on wind energy credits.

Generally, both web hosts provide quality products and services at the most affordable prices. But in terms of ease of use, as well as affordability of prices, we would go for Hostgator. With one of the highest approval ratings in the entire web hosting industry, Hostgator has established itself in the niche for good reasons. And through the years, it has made a name for always being on the top.
